Last year will be remembered as one of great achievement for Bowling Federation of India president Sunaina Kumari, who continues to lead the way in sports administration in her country.

At a meeting during the 2017 Asian Bowls Championships in Delhi last October Ms Kumari was elected to the post of deputy president of the Asian Bowls Federation.

However, perhaps the highpoint of her rising star in sports administration came last month at the annual general meeting of the Indian Olympic Association at Olympic Bhawan in New Delhi when she was elected as a vice president.

International Hockey Federation president Narinder Batra was formally elected as president and incumbent secretary general Rajeev Mehta was reappointed to the post.

An election for the role of senior vice president was narrowly won by RK Anand, while Sunaina Kumari is one of eight elected vice presidents, along with Adille Sumariwala, BP Baishya, VD Nanavati, Sudhanshu Mittal, K Govindraj, Kuldeep Vats and Karan Chautala.

The President, Directors and staff of World Bowls, join all bowlers across the globe in extending congratulations and best wishes to Sunaina Kumari.
