World Bowls warmly welcomes today’s announcement from the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) confirming Amdavad, India as the host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games and importantly, the inclusion of Bowls and Para Bowls as core sports at these Games.

World Bowls President Brett O’Riley said, “These are exciting times for our sport – the world’s most diverse and inclusive. The announcement by the CGF of the inclusion of Bowls and Para Bowls as a core sport for the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Amdavad, India, is an exciting milestone for our global Bowls community. India will be a fabulous host of the Games in 2030, and this will assist to stimulate the further growth and development of Bowls and Para Bowls across India and the region”.

Looking ahead to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2026, O’Riley noted the significance of innovation within the sport, “For the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Bowls and Para Bowls will be played indoors on portable rinks for the first time, creating history and showcasing both the adaptability and presentation of the sport and the strength of its future.”

World Bowls looks forward to working closely with the CGF and all partners to ensure outstanding Bowls and Para Bowls competitions at the Commonwealth Games in 2026 and 2030 and to continue advancing the growth, inclusivity, accessibility and global reach of Bowls and Para Bowls.
