World Bowls is pleased to announce the launch of the World Bowls Academy Event Leaders Programme, a new professional development opportunity designed to strengthen event leadership across the global bowls community.
Taking place in Glasgow, Scotland on 29-30 July 2026, the programme has been developed for those responsible for planning, leading and delivering bowls events within their national federation, club, region or event organisation.
As bowls continues to grow internationally, high-quality events play an increasingly important role in showcasing the sport, engaging communities, attracting partners and creating positive experiences for athletes, volunteers and officials.
Delivered in partnership with the World Academy of Sport, the two-day programme combines executive learning with live event observation during a major international sporting event. Participants will gain practical insights into event strategy, stakeholder management, partnerships, sponsorship, operations and leadership.
The programme is suitable for:
• Presidents, Secretaries General and CEOs of Member Federations
• Event Managers and Competition Leads
• Future hosts of international bowls events
• Emerging leaders involved in event delivery and development
Participants will benefit from:
• Strategic frameworks for international events
• Practical tools for stakeholder and partnership management
• Greater understanding of event operations
• Enhanced leadership and decision-making skills
• Connections with leaders from across the global bowls community
Places are limited to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
