The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has confirmed that the 2026 Prohibited List and 2026 Monitoring Program are now in effect, as of 1 January 2026.
The Prohibited List outlines substances and methods that are banned in sport, both in and out of competition. It applies to all signatories of the World Anti-Doping Code, including World Bowls and its member nations.
Several updates and clarifications have been made for 2026, including changes across specific substance classes, updates to dosing guidance, and the addition of carbon monoxide use under prohibited methods in certain circumstances.
Athletes, coaches, and support personnel are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the updated List and supporting education resources to ensure they remain compliant.
More information, including athlete guides and learning resources, is available via WADA and the World Bowls Anti-Doping section.
