The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has invited the global anti-doping community to come together on 17 April 2026 to celebrate Play True Day 2026 and show support for clean sport.
This year’s campaign continues with the theme:
“Play True. It Starts with You.”
The message highlights the responsibility of athletes, coaches and everyone involved in sport to protect its integrity. Clean sport does not happen by chance. It comes from the everyday choices made by individuals across the sporting community.
A Growing Global Movement
Since launching in 2014, Play True Day has grown into a global campaign that reaches millions of people each year.
In 2025, the initiative recorded a 49% increase in social media engagement compared with the previous year, showing growing support for the message of personal accountability and fair competition.
WADA President Witold Bańka said:
“Once again, I am calling on athletes and the global anti-doping community to join us on Play True Day 2026.
Propelled by the theme ‘Play True. It Starts with You’, we reaffirm a simple but essential commitment that protecting sport begins with each of us. By choosing to Play True, every athlete and every stakeholder contributes to safeguarding the integrity of sport for athletes worldwide.”
Getting Involved
WADA is encouraging athletes, sports federations, anti-doping organisations, governments, event organisers and the wider sporting community to show their support for the campaign.
Participants are encouraged to take part through creative and engaging activities that promote the values of clean sport.
