In his welcome remarks, Mr. Tshepo Sitale, Senior Vice President of the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) encouraged all participants, including students and youth, to take part in all available sporting codes not only to explore new skills but also to be inspired to pursue Olympic dreams.The spirit of Olympic Day was kept alive through movement, fun, and discovery theme. In his closing remarks, Mr. Kitso Robert, President of the Botswana Bowling Association extended his appreciation to the Gaborone Club team for graciously opening their facilities and hosting the event at no cost. Their generosity and warm hospitality played a vital role in making the celebrations a great success. He believes this will not be a one-time collaboration, and looks forward to partnering with the BNOC to host more events of this nature.
Mr Robert also extended a warm thank you to all fellow sporting codes that came out to demonstrate,to teach, and involve everyone in the various disciplines. They brought colour, excitement, and life to the celebrations, and their efforts in promoting physical activity and inclusion were commended. He also took the opportunity to thank sponsors on the day, including Ernst & Young & Botswana Life who generously sponsored much needed beverages which have kept everyone hydrated and ready to display their sporting prowess. Not forgetting Mighty Infinite Services who sponsored lunch for the dignitaries.
