The 2023 Africa States Tournament will be held in Namibia. Namibia is situated in the south-western part of Africa and is neighbour to South Africa. The tournament will take place in the capital city, Windhoek, from June 26 to June 30, 2023.
Namibia is proud to be hosting one of the most prestigious international lawn bowls competitions on the African continent. Six nations, Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe will bowl it out in four categories namely the singles, pairs, triples and fours, with one to four players per team respectively. Men and ladies compete in separate divisions.
All countries represented will ensure that world-class performances will take place on the bowls greens in Windhoek and all countries will be represented with very strong and prepared teams. Windhoek can look forward to top class action bowls on their home soil.
The men will play at TransNamib Bowling Club which is situated in the heart of the capital city and the ladies will play at Eros Bowling Club situated close to the country’s prestigious Safari Court Hotel.
Namibia has in the past tournaments brought home several gold and silver medals and being on their home ground they are hoping to once again showcase their talents on the green.
The Namibian Bowling Association has been preparing diligently as the hosts for the tournament and have started preparations to welcome their counterparts to Namibia. Exciting play is expected.
