From the triumph of a gold medal in the men’s triples in a debut Commonwealth Games in front of a raucous home crown in Melbourne in 2006, Mark Casey four years later overcame the most foreign conditions imaginable to an Australian bowler when he came away with a silver medal with Brett Wilkie and Wayne Turley in the same discipline in New Delhi – no mean feat in such contrasting Commonwealth Games experiences.
Casey enjoyed a 13-year international career representing the Australian Jackaroos up until December 2016 where he amassed 292 caps and a swag of world titles and Commonwealth Games medals. He has also been bestowed with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his services to bowls. Mark is one of the co-founders of the revolutionary UBC bowls competition and he is a prominent club administrator.
