Lorna Smith is regarded as one of the leading players in the world after winning multiple medals. Born in the Seychelles, Lorna Smith has taken two of the world’s strongest bowls-playing countries by storm.
The bulk of her achievements at world level were made when she lived in South Africa, starting with a gold medal success in the fours at the Commonwealth Games in Canada in 1994 and defending the title again in 1998.
After moving to Scotland in 2008, Lorna won the Scottish singles title an unprecedented three times in succession and represented Scotland at the Atlantic championships. But perhaps her crowning achievement came in 2014, when she won the World Champion of Champions title for Scotland in Christchurch.
