A legend in her own lifetime, Amy Pharaoh reached her first Bowls England national final (the triples) in 1993, when she was only 14, and was promptly identified as a terrific prospect. Her record over three decades shows she has lived up to the pundits’ hype and expectation.
In August this year (2025), she won two national titles (the pairs and triples) to become one of a handful of women who have won all four premier Bowls England titles (singles, pairs, triples and fours). Amy has also won the two-wood singles and has lifted her national Champion of Champions title nine times.
On the world stage, Amy’s record in the Commonwealth Games pairs over a 20-year period is remarkable, starting with a bronze medal in 2002, followed by gold in 2020, and a silver in 2022, when she and Sophie Tolchard were denied gold by an inch-prefect firing shot from Australia’s Ellen Ryan. And she has twice skipped an England rink to the World fours title (2004 and 2023).
