It’s been another action-packed day at the inaugural World Cup 2025 where all eyes have been on the men’s singles, women’s pairs and men’s and women’s para pairs.

Early go getters in the men’s singles are Ryan Bester, of Canada, Hong Kong, China’s Ka Ho Lee, Ireland’s Adam McKeown, who already has a men’s pairs bronze medal from this event, Aaron Zangl from the USA and the home nation’s Izzat Shameer Bin Dzulkeple who all recorded two wins out of their two games.

Canada, New Zealand and Hong Kong, China lead the way in the women’s pairs with Canadians Emma Boyd and Kelly McKerihen, Blackjacks Selina Goddard (the World Bowls Series new No 1 ranked female) and Katelyn Inch and Cheryl Chan and Helen Cheung respectively all unbeaten in their three games.

In the para events, the men’s singles saw Hong Kong, China’s Wai-Sum Tong and Utpal Basumatari from India record three wins out of three to take the first spot in sections one and two respectively, while in the women’s discipline, para mixed pairs bronze medallists New Zealand’s Teri Blackbourn and England’s Sally-Ann Lewis-Wall with director Elizabeth Shipley are in first place in their two groups – Blackbourn with three from three wins and Lewis-Wall with two from three.

Today sees the penultimate day of play in the inaugural World Cup 2025 where 72 players from 12 nations are competing for seven gold medals and platinum tier points on the World Bowls Series rankings.
