FOLLOWING consultations between World Bowls, International Indoor Bowls Council and all major stakeholders involved in the above mentioned championships, it is with regret we announce the decision to cancel the 2021 Championships scheduled to be hosted by County Antrim Indoor Bowling Club, Northern Ireland, UK in December 2021, due to the continuing effect of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Having consulted with all participating Member Authorities, it was the overwhelming opinion that continued travel and quarantine restrictions in force around the world would make it impossible for all athletes to attend the championships.

World Bowls and the International Indoor Bowls Council put the safety of all their members at the forefront of all decisions made and, although disappointing for all concerned, consider that the decision is in the best interests of all, bearing in mind the current prevailing circumstances.

We look forward to a brighter future and hope the World Bowls Indoor Championships due to be hosted in England at the Bristol Indoor Bowling Club during April 2022 will go ahead as planned.
