2026 Appointed Director Opportunities

World Bowls is inviting Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified individuals to join its Board as Appointed Directors, as the organisation continues to strengthen governance and drive the global growth of the sport.

As the recognised International Federation for Bowls, World Bowls represents 63 National Member Federations across six continents and is committed to inclusion, innovation, and best-practice governance. These appointments come at an important time for the sport, following the 2025 merger with International Bowls for the Disabled and recognition by the International Paralympic Committee, alongside confirmation that Bowls will feature as a core sport at the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad, India.

About the role

Appointed Directors play a key role in providing independent judgement, strategic guidance, and governance oversight to support the long-term sustainability and impact of the sport.

World Bowls welcomes applications from individuals across all regions and backgrounds, particularly those with experience in governance, finance, integrity, commercial strategy, sport, events, media, or international organisations. A passion for contributing to one of the world’s most inclusive sports is essential.

Appointments are for initial two or three year terms. These roles are pro bono, with reasonable expenses covered.
