MUCH happiness surrounded the grand opening of Australia’s Broadbeach Bowling Club on the Queensland Gold Coast today (9 June 2016).

Host of the past three world junior championships, and site of the sport’s richest event, the $250,000 Australian Open Championships, this picturesque surfside venue has undergone a stunning make-over which commenced six months ago.

The Broadbeach Bowls & Community Club is now transformed into a showpiece of which everyone involved in the project can be justly proud. Special congratulations must be showered on club chairman Barry Gilbert, along with wife and fellow director Colleen Gilbert, for their drive and determination to make their club the centre of bowls excellence that became a reality today.

All is now in readiness for the 2018 Commonwealth Games bowls competition and the 2020 World Championships to be conducted on the club’s four magnificent greens.
